Y'shu'ot Chalutza

believe in agriculture

The vision
The Torah, faith and piety are the elixir of life for the State of Israel in all its systems - the army, politics, economy and health. But all of this is possible only through an unmediated connection to the land. Agriculture is indeed the foundation for a cultural and value revolution that will permeate the entire nation and all state systems. Agriculture which on the one hand is founded on a deep faith 'because G-d spoke well of Israel' and on the other hand is also profitable and financially successful - is the 'head of the arrow' that will make it clear that adraba, more faith, joy of truth and reverence for God give rise to success in every possible parameter.

So why did you decide to engage in agriculture?

Following the expulsion from Gush Katif, it was clear that beyond the personal sorrow caused to the residents, there is a symptom of a deep-rooted national-cultural problem. The State of Israel has forgotten its purpose. Instead of the connection to the land growing a deep value obligation, trust, obsession with friends and public responsibility, the land has become some sort of 'product' that can be sold and distributed to anyone who can afford it. The disengagement was not only from Gush Katif but a Jewish national identity deeply connected to its original roots.
As a result, we established the Yeshuot Halutza economy, to return the country to its original Israeli values. Raising the profile of agriculture as a national value is the key to a radical correction of the culture. The unmediated connection to the land radiates on all the values of life and clarifies our eternal belonging to this land.

What makes the farmer special?

Modern culture is steeped in the fantasy of 'being in control'. Technology also contributes to the feeling that we can control everything and manage life according to our whims. The farmer, on the other hand, knows in advance that not everything is under his control but 'believes in the life of the world and sows'. He does everything he can and puts in all the efforts, but in the end he knows that everything depends on the Lord-of-the-world. The farmer's prayer is not only a 'religious act' but an inseparable part of the profession, a required and completely natural action. There are professionals who think that their salary is guaranteed in advance and that they do not and cannot have problems with their income. The farmer has no room for this imagination. He is always aware of his dependence on God.

Why settle for a pioneer?

After the expulsion from Gush Katif we were offered to establish new settlements in a desolate area. We jumped at the 'bargain' and the right to settle a completely new land. When we arrived there were only huge sand dunes. There were also those who scoffed and claimed that agriculture could not be established on sandy soil. In Siyaeta Dashmia it was proven otherwise. The Land of Israel gives its fruits in a beautiful way everywhere! The moral spirit of Gush Katif continues to pulsate in the sands of Halutza.
